We talk with SUSAN SHAPIRO, KEVIN KAMPS and GRETEL JOHNSTON about the life & death issue of radiation monitoring.  All have met repeatedly with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Environmental Protection Agency.  What they tell us is

deeply disturbing:  the NRC defers to the EPA, and the EPA defers to the NRC, and in the end, both rely on the industry itself to tell us how much they're dosing us with.  In other words:  all the assurances we hear about nukes not killing anyone are UTTER NONSENSE.  Get the inside lowdown from these three amazing experts and prepare to SHUT THIS INDUSTRY DOWN!!!

We honor the magnificent PETE SEEGER on a show that opens with his SOLARTOPIA SONG. Pete has left us at age 94 (TOSHI departed last year at 91) and we remember them with Solartopia Writer/Singer David Bernz, along with Steve Kent and Susan Shapiro from his stomping grounds in upstate New York, and Greta Johnston, his No Nukes fan in Alabama. Pete's astonishing musical genius and this wonderful couple's enormous heart can never be replaced, but we can enjoy GUANTANAMERA and TURN, TURN, TURN while we remember their work on the Clearwater, at Seabrook and Indian Point, and so much. So long, Seegers. You are with us forever.

FUKUSHIMA and all its horrors are visited by PAUL GUNTER of BEYOND NUCLEAR in a powerful hour of proof and exploration.  We visit & evaluate the radioactive impacts on the sailors from the USS RONALD REAGAN who were drenched in fallout as they performed humanitarian services immediately downwind from the exploding reactors.  We ask what the rest of us---including those of us here in North America---can expect in terms of fallout on our land and oceans.  It's not a pretty picture, but a hurdle we'll all need to face on the route to Solartopia.
